With deep expertise in Zero Trust, identity security, and threat-informed defense, Kevin partners with federal, state, and local agencies to develop proactive strategies that strengthen national resilience against evolving cyber threats. Currently serving as Chief Security Strategist at BeyondTrust, Kevin advises government agencies on securing critical assets, reducing risk, and driving secure digital transformation. His work spans leadership roles across the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), The MITRE Corporation, OpenText, and key cybersecurity research institutions.
At DHS, Kevin led high-impact R&D initiatives within the Science and Technology Directorate, collaborating with leading universities and industry partners to create innovative software assurance tools. He successfully transitioned research into practical solutions such as Hybrid Analysis Mapping (HAM), Static Tool Analysis Modernization Project (STAMP), Common Architectural Weakness Enumeration (CAWE), and the Software Assurance Marketplace (SWAMP)—contributions that helped shape industry approaches to software security. His work has helped shape Garnter’s Application Vulnerability Correlation (AVC), which heavily influenced the creation of the Application Security Posture Management tool category.
During his time at MITRE, he contributed to the MITRE ATT&CK framework through the Center for Threat-Informed Defense and helped lead DevSecOps innovation. As Public Sector CTO at OpenText Cybersecurity, Kevin guided sales strategy and technical engagement across federal, state and local agencies, serving as a trusted advisor and public voice on key cyber challenges.
Beyond his day-to-day work, Kevin plays an active role in shaping cybersecurity policy and research through his involvement with ATARC, CSIS’s Federal Cloud Commission, and CISA’s Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative (JCDC) and Cyber Safety Review Board (CSRB).
